This is not a lake but a reservoir. However, when it comes to bodies of water in Austria, it is definitely one of the top spots where I would recommend stopping — especially if you're driving along the famous Grossglockner High Alpine Road towards the Pasterze Glacier.

In this case, the photos probably speak for themselves. Honestly, I don't know what more to say — it's a stunning and extremely photogenic location. Surprisingly, even in ideal weather, there were almost no other visitors.

Oh, and there are also some small unnamed waterfalls here, which you can reach on foot.
