The beautiful and fairly hidden Ödensee in the Salzkammergut offers the possibility for swimming. The parking lot is just a few meters from the lake and is free of charge.

Here, it feels a bit like one of the lakes in the Šumava region, with the difference that you can actually swim. You can also just relax here all day or stop for a cool-down after a strenuous hike on a hot summer day.

Don't expect miracles from this place; it's not the most beautiful lake in Austria, but it's definitely worth a stop. Even in bad weather, a walk around the lake is very pleasant.
