A small via ferrata park located just a short distance from the Gosau Lakes, offering a total of 11 routes ranging from A/B to F.

If you're looking for a quick climbing stop near the Gosau Lakes — something that takes just a few hours and requires no long approach — this is the place I'd recommend. It feels like a somewhat forgotten crag compared to the surrounding ferratas. We were nearly alone here, though that was probably because it had just rained.

There's something for everyone. We first chose the Schmiedsteig C. The lower section is essentially a long traverse. A few staples and sections of cable were loose during our visit. To be honest, it didn't feel great to climb and we didn't feel particularly secure — though this may well have been just a temporary issue. The C difficulty felt accurate, and the wall is definitely not small. Not suitable for beginners, especially not in wet conditions like we had.

For a more relaxed climb, we picked the Moritz B/C ferrata. Ignoring the very dull start, it was an easy but fun route with steadily increasing height. The TOPO didn't really match reality, though — at some point I genuinely had no idea where on the wall we were. Most likely some of the steelwork was new and the map hadn't been updated yet. We climbed across a beautiful new bridge and ladder. The final wall was definitely not B/C — more like solid C or even above — but we both managed it without any major issues.

The descent takes under an hour, and for most of it you can enjoy sweeping views of the lake below the crag. Overall, it feels like one big steel playground for both kids and adults.
